Getting involved

The Festival relies on your contribution to make it a success - why not get involved?

The organisers of Cheltenham International Film Festival are looking to recruit interns for programming, operations and marketing activities. The Festival runs from 27th May, 2019 through to 1st June, 2019. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a festival that joins the ranks of other high profile festivals associated with Cheltenham – jazz, music, science and literary – Cheltenham Festival and the Gold Cup.

The hours and days interns work are flexible as is the place where you work – at home or even in the local coffee shop – we cover your expenses including coffee, sandwiches, etc. But, we expect you to put in a certain amount of hours and to liaise with the Festival Director or Festival Administrator.

Interns are not paid but will benefit from work experience and we offer you ticket vouchers to screenings, festival passes to attend screening, receptions, parties (depending on the number of hours you work) and everyone is given Festival souvenir merchandise to keep. Students are welcome. The CIFF is a partner with the University of Gloucestershire Media School in Cheltenham.

To apply, please send an email to: with information about your interest, experience and studies.

Interns at Cheltenham International Film Festival

If you love film, then we invite you to be involved in an exciting, new film festival.  We are looking to build a team of volunteers for the 2019 Cheltenham International Film Festival 27th May – 1st June, 2019. Volunteers will work across the board in different departments and capacities – ticketing, guest services, street team, ushering, credentials team, merchandise, special events, hospitality, transportation and many more.  Each volunteer plays an important role as part of the collective effort to make the Festival a great occasion for everyone.

As a volunteer you’ll have the opportunity to work with other people of a like mind – who love film.  You will have an opportunity to see films for free, meet and network with filmmakers from around the world, gain work experience, especially in event management, and you will have fun while doing so. As a thank you, we offer volunteers free entry to film screenings, festival passes, attendance at receptions, souvenir merchandise and more.

For more information, please send an email to: with information about your interest, experience and if you are a student, your studies.

The Cheltenham International Film Festival Trust is on a mission to focus global attention on Cheltenham as a centre for film and cinema. Plans are already in progress to add events to our core Festival activities, including a film office to attract film and television production to the town. The actions and plans of the Trust, a non-profit organisation, are being enacted on behalf of the people of Cheltenham and it could be said the whole region.
