Women in Film

The Festival highlighted F-rated films launched by FilmBath to recognise and promote films directed by women.  It is the intention of the Festival to continue to promote women in film to redress the imbalance.  Among the films screened directed by women was Mary Queen of Scots, the first feature film of respected theatre director, Josie Rourke, who discussed her directorial debut with the audience following the screening.  Other F-rated films included Capernaum (Nadine Labaki), Happy As Lazarro (Alice Rohrwacher), Polina (Valérie Müller & Angelin Preljocaj and Mug (Twarz), directed by Malgorzata Szumowska
