Juliette Au Printemps
UK Premiere
Juliette returns home to her dysfunctional family, hoping to get some relief from her stressed life
Juliette is a children’s book illustrator who is going through a crisis and cannot find an explanation for her depressive state. In the hope of finding comfort in her family, she travels to the provincial town of her childhood, where she discovers that things are not much better for others.
In adapting Camille Jourdy’s graphic novel, writer / director Blandine Lenoir tackles heavy themes with great sensitivity and feel-good charm. Juliette’s endearingly chaotic family feel real and authentic. The film brims with colourful energy, quirky humour and moving moments of reconnection and understanding in a family whose love for each other shines through. Oh, and there’s a scene-stealing duckling as well…
