Making Of

Life Imitates Art in this behind the scenes look at a discontented crew making a film about discontented factory workers

A harried director is trying to complete the film amidst concerns over financing and pressures to change the script. Meanwhile, a young extra is tasked with filming a “Making Of” documentary and captures a behind the scenes story that increasingly mirrors the films plot of rebellious workers seizing control of a factory.

Deftly juggling story telling on various levels, and with not one but two films within a film, this self-referential Life Imitates Art scenario is laced with a heavy slice of irony. Director Cedric Kahn could even have made it as a form of therapy, but this is more than just a satire of the film industry, it is also about idealism and standing up for what you believe in, with several characters desperately fighting to hang on to something that is slipping away.  Will there be a last-minute twist to save the day, or does this only happen in the movies?
