CineYouth
Getting YOung People Involved in Film
CineYouth is a year-round programme of films, workshops, masterclasses organised for young people with an interest in film and students of film. In partnership with Cheltenham Education Partnership and the University of Gloucestershire, among others, and with the support of the British Film Institute (Film Hub South West) and The National Lottery Community Fund we continue to promote the culture of cinema to new, young audiences and to encourage interest in the art of filmmaking; reaching out and supporting diversity in the community.
During the film festival we allocate time for filmmakers to attend schools, to share their thoughts about their films, films in general and opportunities in the industry. We encourage young filmmakers to submit their films for screening during the film festival in special sessions and events allocated to young filmmakers and we discount tickets for young people to attend films and events that combined add up to a significant part of CineYouth.
But our programme is year-round and we continue to involve film industry professionals in the lives of young people in the community, by organising talks, discussions and film-making activities.
