La Cocina

Where every dish tells a story - here’s a film where every plate hides a revolution.

In La Cocina, the backrooms of a New York restaurant are a battlefield of tempers, dreams, and survival. The mostly undocumented Latino staff keep the kitchen alive — and barely afloat — in a furious, funny, and deeply human story inspired by Arnold Wesker’s The Kitchen.

Rising Mexican Director Alonso Ruizpalacios turns up the heat with kinetic camerawork, blistering energy, and a drama that slices deep. This isn’t just kitchen life. It’s theatre with knives.
