Chinese New Year Film

Our next screening is Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon which takes place at the Irving Studio, The Everyman Theatre, on 28 January, on the eve of Chinese New Year 2025. “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” received widespread acclaim for its narrative, direction, cinematography, and martial arts choreography. The film garnered over 40 awards and was nominated for 10 Academy Awards in 2001, including Best Picture. It won four Oscars: Best Foreign Language Film, Best Art Direction, Best Original Score, and Best Cinematography. Additionally, the film secured four BAFTA Awards and two Golden Globe Awards, all for Best Foreign Film. Over the years, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” has come to be regarded as one of the greatest films of the 21st century.
