CineYouth
CineYouth 2025 – Cheltenham International Film Festival
CineYouth is our year-round programme dedicated to inspiring young people to discover cinema — not just as entertainment, but as a powerful art form and a possible career. We believe the future of film depends on connecting under-25s with stories that reflect their lives, voices, and communities.
In 2025, CineYouth expands with new screenings and workshops across Cheltenham and Gloucestershire, reaching audiences who might otherwise feel excluded from cultural events. From community screenings of The Beautiful Game for young people in challenging circumstances, to family-friendly films like Shaun the Sheep with creative workshops from Aardman, CineYouth makes cinema accessible, relevant, and fun.
For older youth, our shorts programme and screenings at social venues like The Bottle of Sauce give young filmmakers and audiences a space to meet, debate, and imagine new possibilities. And through partnerships with Into Film, the Gloucestershire Careers Hub, and the University of Gloucestershire, we’re opening clear pathways into the screen industry. Careers days, masterclasses, and Q&As with filmmakers offer practical guidance — and role models who show what’s possible.
By placing young people at the heart of programming and participation, CineYouth 2025 champions cinema as culture, career, and community.
