CHELTENHAM INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
WHAT IS IT?
It is recognition – recognition of the best of independent film from around the world, recognition of emerging filmmakers, filmmakers from diverse backgrounds.
It is an introduction to cinema for young audiences, it is an opportunity for more seasoned audiences to watch films they would otherwise not have an opportunity to see.
It is focus on contributions from black and minority ethnic communities. It is promoting women in film and in the process highlighting women’s struggles to achieve and/or maintain their rights.
In 2021, we introduce our inaugural film festival lecture to give platform to distinguished speakers to raise issues and to put forward their views.
And, we shall launch Cheltenham Youth International Film Festival to give young people access to cinema as an art form and film as a career.
